European Assistance for Innovation Procurement

The European Assistance for Innovation Procurement (www.eafip.eu) initiative of the European Commission provides free of charge support to public procurers from all EU Member States in the implementation of Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions (PPI).

Innovation and public procurement are essential to modernize public services while creating also business opportunities for companies in Europe. They play a key role among others to promote circular economy, as underlined in the Rifkin strategic study.

In order to benefit from the assistance, interested public procurers should consider both documents attached. Application for assistance during the EAFIP-initiative 2019-2020 can be submitted here: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/EAFIP2019 (the current EAFIP call for assistance is open until 15 May 2019).

Especially welcome are innovation procurements of high impact ICT solutions (e.g. Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Virtual/Augmented reality, Big Data) and innovation procurements that are linked to national digital/ICT strategies).
